❓ Technical FAQs for Self-Leveling Compounds
Q1: Can self-leveling sealants be used on vertical joints or sloped ramps?
No. Self-leveling sealants have low viscosity designed to flow freely into horizontal gaps under gravity, providing a completely smooth, tool-free finish. On vertical or steep sloped joints (>3°), use non-sagging formulations such as CHEMPU PU-30 or PU-40 gun-grade sealants.
Q2: What is the recommended cure time before allowing forklift or vehicular traffic over SL-100?
Under standard ambient conditions (23°C and 50% relative humidity), tack-free time is reached in 2–3 hours, and light pedestrian traffic can pass after 24 hours. Full industrial forklift and wheel-load traffic should be withheld for 48–72 hours until deep section cure is complete.
